Essential Features of E-Commerce Websites

For starters, it is important to know the essential functions an E-Commerce website must have in order to gain attraction and a good reputation as a developer/business owner. This portion will be covering some of the must-have features of an E-Commerce website.

The first one on the list is user-friendly navigation. The whole point is to give ease to the customer in navigating and finding their way to purchase products. The items should be arranged properly starting with the most popular categories first in the list. (Hines, 2022)

Secondly, a search bar. Without a site search bar, it will be tedious to search for your desired item. An advantage to this includes preventing inaccuracy in searching for products. Usually, a search bar comes with other helpful features such as a filter. (Hines, 2022)

Third is footer navigation. This will be useful in helping your customers find access to any other help, queries, and more advanced features such as app connections, benefits, services, and information. At times, top products may be featured in this section. (Hines, 2022)

Coming fourth is product videos. This will not only strengthen the product's reputation but it helped the customers decide on a product with a clearer visualisation. (Hines, 2022)

Finally, we have product reviews. This is also considered to be one of the most popular forms of user-generated content in any online/e-commerce website. This is a must-have feature because it provides proof to buyers that a particular product is trustworthy and will fit their needs. (Hines, 2022)
